If you’ve got a CD, DVD, or Blu-ray drive in your computer, you can use it to burn discs. Burning a disc means writing data to it. You can burn music, movies, photos, and more to a blank disc to share with friends and family or just to save for yourself. In Windows, you’ll use the built-in Windows Disc Image Burner tool.

How to Burn CDs in Windows 11/10

Windows 11/10 offers a built-in tool for burning CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs. This tool is called Windows Disc Image Burner and is located in the Accessories folder.

To use Windows Disc Image Burner, insert a blank disc into your computer’s CD, DVD, or Blu-ray drive. Then, open the file you want to burn to the disc. Right-click the file, select Send to, and then select Disc Image Burner.

In the Disc Image Burner window, select the disc drive you want to use, and then click Burn.

How to Burn DVDs in Windows 11/10

Burning a DVD in Windows 11/10 is a simple process that can be completed in a few steps. First, open the Windows Media Player application. Next, insert a blank DVD into your computer’s DVD drive. Then, click on the “Burn” tab located in the upper-left corner of the window.

Next, drag the files that you want to burn onto the DVD into the “Burn List” window. Once you have added all of the files that you want to burn, click on the “Start Burn” button. A popup window will appear asking you to choose the burn speed. It is recommended that you choose the slowest burn speed to prevent any errors.

Once you have chosen the burn speed, the burning process will begin. A progress bar will appear in the window showing you the progress of the burn. Once the burn is complete, a message will appear letting you know that the process is finished. You can now eject the DVD and use it in any DVD player.

How to Burn Blu-ray Discs in Windows 11/10

Assuming you have a Blu-ray burner and media, the process for burning a Blu-ray disc in Windows is relatively straightforward. First, open Windows Disc Image Burner by searching for it in the Start menu. Next, select your Blu-ray drive as the target destination and click “Browse” to select the ISO or BDMV file you wish to burn. Finally, click “Burn” to begin the burning process.

If you’re looking for more control over the burning process, you can also use 3rd-party software like ImgBurn or Nero Burning ROM. These programs offer more options and settings for burning Blu-ray discs, but the basic process is still the same. Simply select your Blu-ray drive as the target destination, select the ISO or BDMV file you wish to burn, and click “Burn.”
