How to Disable Hardware Tab in Properties Window?

2. In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Explorer\Advanced

3. In the right pane, create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value with the name “DisableHWPropsPage” (without the quotes).

4. Double-click on the new value and set it to 1 to disable the Hardware tab or 0 to enable it.

5. Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

1. From the Start menu, select “Run.”

1. Open the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc).

3. Double-click on “Do not display the Hardware tab”.

4. Select “Enabled” and click “OK”.

5. Close the Group Policy Editor and restart your computer.

How to do it in the Local Security Policy Editor?

1. Open the Local Security Policy Editor (secpol.msc).
2. In the left pane, expand Local Policies and click on Security Options.
3. In the right pane, scroll down to the bottom and double-click on “Do not display the hardware tab”.
4. Select “Disabled” and click “OK”.

How to do it in the Security Configuration and Analysis Tool?

1. Start the Security Configuration and Analysis tool.
2. In the console tree, expand Local Policies, and then click Security Options.
3. In the details pane, double-click Prohibit access to properties of this object.
4. Click Enabled, and then click OK.
